Cape Town in Five Days: A Slow-Travel Itinerary
Skip the rushed bus tour. Here's how to soak up Table Mountain, the Cape winelands and Robben Island at a pace that actually lets you breathe.
Five days in Cape Town isn't enough — and yet, with the right planning, it's plenty. The trick is choosing density over distance: pick a few neighbourhoods, pick a few wineries, and let weather dictate the rest.
Day 1 — V&A Waterfront and Bo-Kaap
Land, drop bags, walk to the waterfront. The Two Oceans Aquarium is a forgiving jet-lag fix. In the afternoon, take a slow stroll up into Bo-Kaap before sunset for the kind of photos that don't need a filter.
Day 2 — Table Mountain & Camps Bay
Up early, weather permitting. The mountain has its own moods. After the descent, a long lunch in Camps Bay with the Atlantic in your peripheral vision is the kind of recovery your legs deserve.
